i've been using mac os x lion since developer preview 2. never had major issues until upgrading gm (the gm 10.7.0) in june. ever since upgrading gm, , 10.7.2 beta, i've been having issue when logging in. i'm prompted enter name , password. while type, or before begin typing, dreaded beach ball. resolves , i'm able log in. other times must force shutdown , retry. should try clean install? have advice? way, i'm using hibernation mode 0 (the old hibernation mode) doesn't save ram data hard drive when mac goes sleep. default, current macs use hibernation mode 3 saves ram data hard drive when going sleep. i'm not sure if has relevance issue. edit: after scouring apple support forums found numerous threads regarding issue i'm having. login issue seems isolated 2010 macbook pros graphics switching. disabling automatic graphics switching or enabling automatic login issue prevented.   ...
