functionality
apex armor released previous versions case , after feed went drawing board , tweaked design make more functional. start off 30 pin dock connector , speaker/mic share 1 large cutout, allow cables wider design if height bigger stock apple cable might not squeeze in there. cables tested fit know there few car cables thick , have use dock extender those. volume button , silent switch share 1 large cutout work verizon , att models, buttons easy reach due slim design. headphone jack medium sized cutout due slim design dint have problems plugging of headphones cutout, larger headphones not designed mobile device use might not fit , require extender. home button cutout nice pill shape , home button easy reach. simcard gets own cutout on case give access need change simcards out. overall case pretty functional, slim design lets case slide in , out of pockets , cutouts give options use third party connectors case installed.

design , quality
mentioned version 3 of case, apex armor went redesign features on case make more functional , overall better case. give apex armor ton of credit doing many cases have huge flaws never addressed. design of case different aluminum bumpers, screwed in 2 screws , break points in top right corner , bottom left corner. case sturdy , smooth @ points of contact. design 1 of slimmest of aluminum bumpers have tested, top , bottom part slim while sides have bit more thickness keep case sturdy. quality pretty good, think finish on cases little rough looking(fells smooth) part of design not defect in case. logo on side nice , small , adds small bit of style case. overall design , quality of case great, thin design along functionality works me.

reception
aluminum cases question how effect reception of phone? break down here. tested case on , on , on , on again make sure consistent reading area, keep in mind different areas different signal strengths might effected differently.
decibels- tested case on micro-cell on normal cell towers across town. on micro-cell lose 6 10 decibel occasional spike 15 decibels recover rather quickly.
on normal att cell towers lose 8 12 decibels of signal strength occasional spike of 18 decibels.

mean? sure of thinking. means lose 1 bar of reception, live in pretty low reception area in cases put phone in searching mode because have 1 bar begin with. being live in area testing decibel reading can hard tend fluctuate, have put serious testing in , feel have hold on reception degradation of case. tested 3g speeds case installed , saw pretty inconsistent numbers leading me believe effect 3g speed slightly. didn't have problems @ gps or wifi, stayed fast , true results without case installed.

overall great case design, quality, , functionally wise, receptions issues encountered case make problem me live in lowest of att reception areas. if live in area 3 5 bars of reception everywhere case 1 should check out. sleek , slim design sets apart other aluminum case designs , if can handle 1 bar or signal degradation check out. apex armor

great detailed review! :)
