What Do You Think?

not long ago apple computer introduced first mac cd drive. previous operating systems on floppy discs, , suffer erasures magnets etc.

great step apple , since cd/dvd drive has been great feature on mac's until recently. after cd drive standard feature in mac's usb introduced , great step forward. saw firewire 400, firewire 800, , gigabit ethernet. great things many pc computers lacked standard feature. buy add in cards support these options, until caught , included of these features standard feature.

apple took away firewire 400 on models, ie: macbook. decided take cd/dvd drive out of new mac mini. newer technology means has compromised. thunderbolt, loose in return. app store, loose optical drive. quite possibly pc manufacturers doing may open box new apple computer , find there no discs, ( many pc manufacturers remain nameless).

why need optical drive when have app store? can download new os machine , install internet. if, , if cant connect internet? if theres problem account , apple needs time resolve issue can validate account? if business computers need working now, not tomorrow?

nice have os on disc somewhere can pop in , clean reinstall if need, , , running soon. wait theres no optical drive um............wheres flash drive? wheres external usb drive? know um ..........here somewhere.

food thought everyone.

someone needs computer badly take proper precautions case won't work, having installer on kind of portable medium, or better, having clone of entire system on external hdd.

use mac work, clone on daily/weekly basis, , restoring such clone can take hour or less, had had delete stuff make room big video play presentation, couldn't transcode in time, director last-minute kind, external usb hdd have been slow.
after presentation done, restore clone 2 days earlier (just worked 30 hours), , , running hour later.

anyway, installed lion on test imac , still see recovery partition when pressed option during startup.
