error-36 Ext HDD Problem

i found external harddrive in garage after year in storage.

decided fresh install on mbp unibody, wanted music files external harddrive. @ around 11.45 gigs dreaded error-36 problem. repaired disk on external harddrive, , used "dot_clean xxxxx" command in terminal , i'm still having same problem. format of ext hdd mac os extended (journaled).

i'm using fantom drive 1tb. it's wdd 1tb rebranded.
 

could fact of mp3s corrupted? stop working @ same "corrupted" songs. skip song giving me error , rest of files transfer fine.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
