Amex insurance as opposed to Applecare

i have had amex gold rewards years , have used insurance couple of times (lower value items) extremely efficient results.

have found great iphone 4 (2 phones had faulty proximity sensors, had broken microphone) standard warranty expires in september year (last week phone replaced). not need apple phone support , need replacement coverage if phone ever goes bad on me.

pay cellphone bills amex , month received new phone charged $159 + cellphone monthly charges.

advantage have in taking out applecare not provided amex insurance doubles warranty on one's phone (up max of 1 year)? don't see perhaps missing something.
 

i have sworn in small print amex says not cover cellphones extended warranties :(.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
