Locked files... Preview?!

so uploaded pics mbp using image capture (i select few pics off whole men card). proceeded view them in finder, , needed rotated, every single time rotated picture drop down menu appeared asking me unlock or duplicate photo. never happened in snow leopard; , how stop nonsense?

go time machine system prefs, options, , uncheck "lock documents after last edit."

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
