hi all. i'm posting reference looking see apple's policy replacement computers. got mine today! here's stats:
2007 sr macbook pro (purchased june 2008 on clearance through hook-up @ guitar center).
on past 3 years, computer has received following service @ apple store:
2 replacement batteries
1 top case replacement
1 logic board replacement (due nvidia 8600 whatever)
1 power brick replacement
3 optical drive replacements
last optical drive replacement going in today. genius nice, carrying cutest-in-the-world 15 month-old daughter, , looked @ 'puter's history, , volunteered see do. 5 minutes later told me seem nice guy , he'd give me new computer. got baseline 2011 15-inch mbp.
think 2007 mbp bit of lemon, didn't think had shot @ free replacement. not optical drive. i've read here , on webs, need 3 *major* components fail. here are.
in wildest dream hoped gpu failure next year after ivy bridge mbps out replacement. long shot , i'm thrilled got. obviously, wouldn't be.
earn karma, nice genius , maybe you'll hook-up. if thought had more luck in tank i'd go buy lottery ticket.
i hate lot of tactics apple uses, love awesomness of in-store techs. may not smartest nicest.
