How will iTunes react if I keep just Apps and Videos on an external HD?

currently videos, itunes "finds" them when have external hd attached. have 9gb of iphone apps, , don't see point of keeping them on main hd.

itunes "find" folder , move new apps external hd if moved folder? want keep music on hd. not apps.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
