Using a non apple remote on a macbook pro

i have hp remote got old hp laptop , i'm wondering can pair macbook pro, if how do it? on of remote says 'rc6 ir'

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
