Migrating from Ubuntu

i bought 15" i7 mac book pro , on switching on, find totally different used - ubuntu. feel it'll take me 6 months migration.

happened maximize button ? + button doesnt maximize it.
there resource on how make shift ubuntu ?

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
