why is battery life so bad in windows

my battery life double in osx compared windows. both situations have brightness 3 notches off. in osx full 8 hours estimated 11. in windows barely 4 hours. why such difference?
 

which macbook it? if it's 1 switchable gpu, it'd because apple has made more powerful 1 on in windows. guess thought trouble allow switching in windows well.

also, i'm guessing software bootcamp installs manage battery basic generic version, energy management in os x.

plus seems make os x better well...

shame because reason have windows installed few games aren't os x compatible, , have on life-support power socket whole time. whole point of laptop can moved.

RESOLVED: Geez...my spoiled daughter was disappointed when I gave her a new 11" MBA!

my daughter has 2010 white macbook (latest model...as of today) has warranty expiring soon. so, instead of buying applecare, thought i'd great dad , surprise new 11" base model macbook air (and sell macbook). give yesterday thinking she'd (since said thought cool @ local apple store last week), after 15 seconds, says doesn't want because there's no disc drive in music , dvds. told can rip , put file on mba or whatever, still said needs (despite other benefits of newer , lighter mba). use, 2011 mbp better mba, i'm not listening voice of customer/user in case! geez...she's seven! smart , detailed , knows wants, see myself taking son on weekend getaways every month starting in few years or   /r/firstworldproblems   Forums Macs ...
