Can I upgrade if I am still using 10.5.8?

i never upgraded snow leopard, wondering if upgrade lion osx though still using 10.5.8?
 

i don't think you'll able directly upgrade.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
