Corrupt Lion?

is possible lion download corrupt? created 20gb partition on 500gb hd , tried install lion. after 5 hours had abort , start on after repairing hd. second install took 1-1/2 hours , started indexing spotlight. when indexing done ran slow point every mouse click spinning beach ball appear. same happen when running snow leopard.
ran disk utility snow leopard boot disk , said 20gb partition unrepairable. so, going on baffles me. suggestions anyone?

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
