mac os x installer cant find hard drive!

hey guys, i'm hoping 1 can me out here!
few hours ago macbook screen froze , when tried restart folder question mark flashed on screen. found mac os x installation cd came laptop , trying reinstall when tells me select destination nothing comes , have no idea try find hardrive! please!
 

if can't find it, it's dead drive. need buy new hard drive.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
