Sleep Mode vs. Regular Shutdown?

i have been getting mixed answers this. should put imac sleep every night, or shutdown , reboot in morning? please put answer do! thanks! :cool:
 

sleep mode sure. macs defrag when in sleep mode.

so, there no need whatsoever ever shut down. had last imac on 5 years straight except when had restart because of update , like.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
