Windows workgroups no longer seen

in sl, active computers in windows workgroup (which mac part of) seen in left side of finder window. in lion gm gone, it's possible smb-mount windows shares manually command-k (or menu) - of course works if name of computers , shares known , if it's known windows computers active.

in lion, automatic listing of active workgroup members found. has functionality been removed (a.k.a. "another enhanced feature") in lion??? if lion must apple's chernobyl... :(
 

it kind of works now, slow , limited.

example can still see laptop disconnected 1 hour ago.

known bug?
did apple @ point?

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
