MBP vs. MBA Question (for school)

hi, i'm entering private high school, , looking @ buying new mac replace hp craptop. wondering, if have $1,500 spend, better way spend money, new mba or mbp? wind upgrading as can, , taking education discount. also, used cinema 4d, word processing, , photo work. also, need battery life can get.

on separate note, how of difference cpu speed make vs. ram speed?
 

they both pretty anything, pro bit faster @ things video editing.

oh, , don't education discount high school.

ram helps run more programs @ once (multitasking), while cpu affects speed task can finished.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
