Lion for Disk Utility

my harddrive having issues. first ran disk utility didnt fix problems (after 5 runs same issues keep coming up). decided try , boot installation disc, problem dont have 1 , in germany cannot 1 easily. if create bootable usb drive lion on it, can repair snow leopard harddrive through diskutility?

have mid 2010 mbp

might need backup, format, , install. cannot repair mounted filesystem, , can't unmount booted filesystem safely.

lion create restore partition can boot off of try , repair bootup drive.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
