Mail 5.0 and Google Apps - Help Please!

after doing searches (outside of macrumors) appears others having same problem:

imap setup google apps accounts not working properly.

incoming mail works ok, when sending fails.

can imagine, big issue.

worse yet if have multiple gmail accounts (many personal gmail account , business/school google apps account) - if attempt send via google apps account fails , falls personal account - sent mail google apps account appears come personal gmail account - not good.

appears imap side of things (incoming) ok, smtp side of things messed up.

have ideas or know if apple mail 5.0 issue or google apps issue - or both?

above setup works fine on iphone, ipad , windows using outlook...

appreciated.
 

make sure smtp server, ports, etc correct

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
