What size external drive?

hi everybody. first post here. have mid 2007 imac 250gb hd , mid 2007 macbook 120gb hd. them both on 1 external drive. think 500gb drive enough?
 

just 1tb, not more. went costco , bought seagate portable 1tb, usb 67$.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
