How do you Wipe Computer Clean???

hello-

bought new 27" imac , want give old 1 away local library, how erase traces of me , files??

imac runs great & has had numerous upgrades on it's life. don't want "degrade" afraid may not respond standard attempt erase system.

here have:

original bought follows: (bought 11/30/2002)
imac 17" widescreen
model m8812
800 mhz pwr pc g4
256 mb
80 gb hd
------------------------------------------
upgrades:
*1024 gb sdram
*daystar machspeed g4 imac flat panel cpu upgrade; 1.35 ghz (7457 cpu w/ 512 l2 cache installed).
*os9 removed , hd not partitioned anymore
*osx 10.5.8 "leopard", believe "patch" used allow imac run leopard.

have original packaging , cd's came it. don't want erase point os9 original cd's have loaded again (os9 real drag, never used it).

suggestions how can erase things system without messing up?

if turns out hassle i'll junk it, i'm sure it's not worth anything, hardly chance sell problems of reconfiguring all-

you need erase hdd (possibly write 0's data protect yourself) if don't want huge hassle don't know. what's hassle? reinstalling os shouldn't hard, take time.
