i'm presented few rather tiresome dilemmas on path glittering new macbook pro replace old 13" core 2 duo unit (which bought before release of core i7's,

). among them canadian location, , strong canadian dollar. several web outlets can me 2.0ghz 15" pro @ reasonable price, such macmall or b&h photo video, problem none of them ship here, , arranging contact in states bring here me dicey option. if 1 there, save $250 discounts , favourable exchange rate, , that's no amount of money sneeze at. canadian online retailers sell me $1850, in canadian dollars, , buying locally less appealing option, since province has extortionate 15% sales tax.
lot of people have suggested buy refurbished, deals on particular macbook i'm after don't come on apple canada store, , can't computer few weeks, when i've saved funds.
appealing option, didn't think going appealing, ebay. there's lot of reseller deals on @ moment, in anticipation of school sales, , since they're in dollars, save on exchange rate, , since considered private sale, wouldn't charged absurd taxes. might need pay duty, it's pretty easy circumvent that.
speaking of school, friend of mine teacher @ community college, , if buy computer on behalf, save $100 on it, , there's deal on $100 gift card mac app store. think of 1 or 2 things use on. , far know, duty or other taxes included in price listed on website. tried going through checkout, , added-on cost small recycling fee. i'm not sure if more costs added on later, doubt it.
seems best option? pitfalls should weary of? advice appreciated.
