Lion clean install, it really helped (MacBook Pro)

i thought information may of use of you.

have mid 2010 2.53 i5 macbook pro 15".

did sl upgrade lion, , suffered several of problems described on forum. alas, made bootable lion usb flash drive , did clean install after formatting boot drive disk utility. first of all, install took 1/3 of time upgrade took! it's installed, i've put on manually (apps, files, settings etc), no assisted migration. it's fresh start, , system visibly quicker, snappier, more responsive, , improved boot time. diminished battery life seems have been partially recovered, reiterate, partially.

yes, things safari memory leaks remain, , minor bugs. upgraded mbp 4gb 8gb of ram kicks , future proofing, though wasn't necessary , did of testing original 4gb. though inspired fact lion eat marginally increased amount of ram, regardless of tells you, does.

in conclusion: i'd recommend doing clean install of lion.

(strange side note: i'm left few built in desktop backgrounds after clean install. of sl ones gone)

glad got sorted.

have same model mbp i7. on year old bloated sl install upgrade took 25 mins , after reindexing , reboot how before, battery life, temps, snappiness. wonder why have issues upgrading , others don't...

did clear old cache , temp files before doing upgrade?
