imac 27" won't detect samsung syncmaster dvi

so other day got mini display dvi adapter connect samsung syncmaster t260hd to. isn't working.

system pref. won't detect monitor. , 5 sec after turning monitor on... goes black screen... if computer putting there. monitor have error if there no signal.

have gotten adapter see if 1 faulty still doesn't work.

have restarted computer , checked connections.

thing can think of dvi cable isn't correct one. after looking @ dvi diagram found out dvi cable single link. issue? i've asked people , said shouldn't.

please me!

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
