Why is Gmail not pushed to iPhone?

hi all

excuse ignorance don't understand why gmail doesn't pushed iphone. in settings have fetch new data set push, yet mail arrives every 15 minutes (which fetch setting set too). have wp7 phone too, , gmail pushed that. however, can't see difference in how account setup on either phone don't understand why works on 1 not other.

has got simple explanation this?

you need set gmail microsoft exchange email account push properly. drawback cannot search servers old emails. prefer having emails sent iphone instantaneously, have gmail set exchange , have safari bookmark gmail.com if ever need search email.
