"Fast user switching" stopped -from- one userID only

i'm developer has lot of different user-ids on (snow leopard 10.6.7) machine. one of user-ids, although "fast user switching" drop-down menu appears normal, not possible switch other user. pull down menu, , looks right (proper checkboxes , on), , make choice , ... nothing happens. (however, can switch "login window..." selection, , "account preferences," does work. there, switch whomever want to.)

other users on machine, "fast user switching" drop-down works normally.

(naturally, none of these ids, save one, administrators.)

again ... i'm (web) developer, , lots of off-the-wall things on development box, although don't apple development. so... i'm not surprised @ ... would know how happened (i.e. setting stored, , howcum affects 1 userid?). , of course, how fix it.

clarification: can switch to user without difficulty. when logged-on as user, "other user-id" choices not @ all.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
