Just got 13" MBA - 2 Questions Help

first of all, must mba faster anticipated. it's 2011 i5 13" mba. have 3 questions can started:

1) noticed ac plug included. for? seems charger works fine , attached adaptor. need thing or ever need use it?

2) did system on old 17" mbp time machine onto external hard drive. i'm going finder , importing things manually external since don't see anywhere in time machine restore entire system (which okay).. need know how import bookmarks. bookmarks placed in old system can manually import them?

3) heard people talking toshiba vs samsung ssd , lg vs samsung display. tried these in "about mac" , "system report" couldn't find company names. that? curious have..

bunch, , let me know if have questions new system , i'll glad t answer well.
