Could messed up cord be messing iPhone up?

i traded phone , gave me iphone , started having problems callers hearing me took genius , swapped out. noticed cord part plugs iphone looks different other ones , fits not easy other cords i'm used to. have damaged phone? hope not because used accident plug new 1 in because same. :confused:

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
