Reducing screen size of the 27" iMac

hi,

im thinking buying high-end 27" imac i7+2gb 6970 gfx.
in spare time want play world of warcraft, starcraft ii , possibly diablo iii. worries me, however, if 27" screen big gaming, i.e don't want tennis-match experience having turn head time.
i'm wondering if possible reduce active screen size 21" inch when gaming?
clear, im not talking playing in nonnative resolution @ 27".

some games have option of playing @ smaller display resolution still keeping native pixel resolution. there's option of playing in windows mode well.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
