Problems with an external hard drive.

hey everyone, having trouble external hard drive , hoping help. have imac 3.06 intel core 2 duo 4gb of ram , running 10.6.8. hard drive lacie 1tb. (its black 1 blue led strip under it) have partitioned 2 parts. 1 being 250gb storage 750 time machine backup. problem decided wanted clean install lion moved needed onto hard drive fine. unplugged , erased imac hard drive reinstalled snow leopard. went perfect computer running fast plug in external start coping stuff on desktop , after while started getting errors saying unable copy because of restrictions tried couple more times figured maybe restart help. restarted computer , external drive not show up. went disk utility , shows on there locks when select 10mins , tried repair said had problem. tried using diskwarrior , 1 of partitions show when select in finder locks disconnects itself. keeps doing randomly. thought maybe enclosure took drive out placed cavalry 2 bay hard drive dock , still did same thing on different computer. don't think mechanical because don't hear clicking noise , makes crunching noise has when trying read information. ran out of ideas , wondering if else had any. appreciate help.

external hd doesnt show when plug macbook pro!?!? seems i'm not one! whats happening?:confused:

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
