60fps in 30fps Timeline/Slow Motion Question

i apologize dumb question i'm confused!

have 30fps timeline in final cut pro 6. if drop 60fps clip onto timeline, playing @ true 30p (making clip appear slow motion)? reason ask is, plan on shooting music video @ 60fps & want final product in slow motion.

i'm starting think fcp play 60fps clip @ 30fps cutting out half frames & making choppy. hope i'm wrong.

appreciated.
thanks.

if remember right, , it's in premier, create time line in 30 frames/second, make twice long project time intend end meaning if want end 5:00 worth of footage, make project 10:00. because when slow footage down in half 60fps 30fps, footage gets twice long, that's purely personal pref.
