Help me choose an external CD/DVD drive/burner please.

hello!

have first generation macbook pro, , although has been quite work horse, dvd/cd drive failed long ago. , desperately need one.

need read , write cds , dvds without issue, , preferably not slow. don't need special blue ray , stuff.

there 1 true blue burner out there? have never used external one, appreciate , enlightenment -- thank you.

in case you're wondering, running os 10.4.11, if matters.
 

first - upgrade snow leopard, costs $30 , worth it.

second - careful 1 pick because drives won't allow boot disk through external. friend of mine having issues trying reinstall os x, because mac won't boot os x dvd in external, , internal died.

talked guy apple support , promised me work.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
