i installed snow leopard on imac, , have updated 10.6.8 (waiting more ram arrive before can install lion). went print , appeared system had "lost" driver printer. reinstalled driver , opened add printer window. sees printer connected via usb, , found driver, when clicked add button, window froze. button stays highlighted, , when move mouse on it, turns spinning wheel. can still use other applications (though can't move them in front of add printer window). computer still doesn't recognize printer when try printing. waited half hour , add printer window didn't budge, restarted , tried again. same thing happened. i've been using printer years , never had problem 10.5 or earlier systems. ideas? thanks!   try running software update , see if finds newer printer drivers usb printer. if fails... go here , grab latest drivers manually: http://support.a...

i purchased 1 tb portable wd essentials drive plan on using backup. tried copy old time machine backup folder on new drive getting messages ownership. had bright idea apply ownership (me) items held in folder 135 gb worth thinking happen in reasonable amount of time. 2 hours later it's still chugging along. @ point i'm thinking why not start new time machine folder? don't see way stop system process of applying ownership large number of files. info box open, , message "applying privileges mac 1" (my ext drive). don't want drastic pulling plug on drive. there easy way safely stop process? thanks!   6 hours chugging along... should pull plug? update: plug pulled. no adverse effects noticed...   Forums Macs macOS ...

i've been having trouble past month mbp charging. @ coffee shop several hours laptop plugged in , didn't have trouble. did software update laptop , iphone, don't think pertinent power. if remember correctly, safari , other small update. anyway, when went home plugged in again later evening, since needed charge phone again. can recall, charging, when woke had stopped charging , battery had died. tried cleaning connection , plugged different outlet. started charging again, long enough give me 30 minutes of battery charge. may have stopped charging when plugged phone in again, didn't notice right away. tried resetting pram , didn't help. week before able take apple store. however, when took in, charged without problem. tested adapter , worked fine in machine , in 1 @ store. there didn't seem problem iphone, tell. took home , able charge again. however, couple days ago went coffee shop , plugged in stopped charging. had things...

hey everyone, macbook air stolen last week , don't have money replace right now. (i'd rather buy lenses camera) still have "old" white macbook though , i'm using aperture workflow feels slow in comparison despite clean install , more powerful cpu. need speed bump! since both machines had same amount of ram (2gb) guess ssd made air faster. plan on buying crucial m4 64gb ssd macbook tomorrow figured if have use bigger , heavier machine may not have carry external drive more. -which optibay brand , model recommend computer? read cause hibernation problems…? -i plan on having ssd in built-in slot , 500gb scorpio blue in optibay. configuration? think scorpio has built-in "sudden motion sensor", make optibay safe it? -i understand ssd apple puts in macbook air rather slow. upgrade plan on doing make faster air? -will there point in adding more ram once have ssd? know these lot of questions spent hours reading man...
