In-Class Note Taking App (but not Evernote)

(this repost mac app forum, it's app syncs between mac , iphone, thought appropriate post here)

i've been looking note taking app can use take notes during lectures , such (though app doesn't need designed purpose), , preferably has iphone equivalent sync with, can review notes when i'm not @ computer. when first downloaded it, evernote seemed perfect, discovered it's not suited fast-paced note-taking required lecture: wants individually title each note (otherwise show untitled), , there's not shortcut/hotkey start new note; have click button. may not seem bad, when professor's talking fast, hotkey incredibly useful. have suggestions? if no 1 can think of anything, maybe app 1 described, not iphone syncing option? thanks!
