Imovie problems

for first time since got mac (snow leopard), i've been playing around imovie. when had pc enjoyed windows movie maker. well, uploaded videos make musical montage, , seems messing on me. when drag cursor on actual video clip (before drag project) show video, no sound. , when select , drag project, wouldn't play, wouldn't edit right. wouldn't anything.
i've tried delete imovie , possibly try older version, everytime drag trash, it's still there.

Mail will not Quit when shutting down

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
