New RAM = Same Performance

i upgraded ram in 2010 mbp 4gb 8gb , didn't notice significant performance boosts. mean have bad ram? system works did 4gb in apps still load slow before.

system still recognizes ram , activity monitor shows 7.75gb. problem is, don't notice performance changes. way sure normal or need exchange this?

btw crucial ram using

thanks!

it means didn't need ram, , bottleneck elsewhere -the hard drive or cpu.

sort of programs running? because unless you're doing heavy development, design, or like, going 4gb-8gb isn't going make of difference. when comes opening programs.
