New To Mac Any Pointers?


hello have been using mac os x snow leopard since march , wondering if guys had pointers on keeping "fresh" , in tip top form. using following apps keep up-to-date.

onyx ( http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html )-- use repair disk permissions whatever else does... wondering how should repair disk permissions because once day.

snow leopard cache cleaner ( http://www.northernsoftworks.com/snowleopardcachecleaner.html )-- use "deep cleaning" think , onyx same thing. wondering if pointless have them both?

mackeeper ( http://www.mediafire.com/?rpd0jbvp3awp63r#1 )-- know isn't website contains 1 of versions of , have attached file make easy upgrade use latest version free. wondering if should shred using app or use secure trash? think save hdd space if shredded everything.

smcfancontrol ( http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol ) -- i'm using because mbp hot alot , use cool down.

appfresh ( http://metaquark.de/appfresh/ )- have found easiest way keep apps date.

apps use keep mbp clean , date , wondering if guys had more should using or if shouldn't using these. said i'm new mac. been using since march. me out as can! oh , should download anti-virus safe? if one?

personally wouldnt bother of things unless have problems

current mac running fine after 4 years, if see issues repair permissions , check drive (probably done half dozen times)
