Installed lion, after logging in iMac keeps rebooting

hi all,

i've installed lion on new imac. after logging in (on either of user accounts use) system authenticates , before else happens told "you need restart computer. hold down power button until turns off" in several languages.

, same thing keeps happening.

i've tried repairing permissions, same thing occurs. i've tried reinstalling lion , grrrrrrrr same thing occurs...

thoughts or advice welcome

i should add can log in having booted in safe mode... returning normal boot keeps requesting reboot after logging in.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
