Can't empty trash

hi,

can't empty trash, because says files in use. files on external hard drive, , i've tried both deleting /.trashes terminal (with sudo rights), returns error.

also, i've tried emptying trash while pressing 'alt'.

solution?
 

try restarting

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
