Question on clamshell mode...heat/fan

i have 2011 13 i5 air hooked 27acd @ work. use in clamshell mode, when gets warmer , fan on quite bit more.

don't mind noise, wondering if bad have fan on day that. designed able on time without wearing out prematurely?

reason want use in clamshell mode don't want screen on air sit there day same background pic on it. bad sit there day without screen ever changing?

sorry newb questions..

 

i run mine in clamshell mode day well, hear fan. wouldn't worry hurting unit.
