Can I stop Safari 'auto positioning' web pages?

when clicking 'back' in safari, page cleverly positions same place when last read (ie, if reading 10th story on engadget, click on link , click engadget, it'll reload 10th story).

however, doesn't repostition until page loaded, can have scrolled on other part of page , it'll snap 10 seconds ago. iphone , ipad same annoying thing.

possible turn off 'feature'?
