Want to iTunes on PC & Laptop to mirror each other?!

i have normal itunes media on pc (which sync iphone 4 from) want set itunes on laptop mirrors content on pc (in effect - itunes in case pc fails!)

thought via sharing media itunes pc laptop, however, after setting up, music shared laptop, jumbled up?! had music in playlists on pc it's been shared laptop, playlists themselves, weren't shared - placed music in 1 lonnnng playlist?!! - none of apps shared?

can advise what's best way of doing this?!

there's 2 options see might work

1: if using home sharing, sounds are, there should arrow next home sharing section in itunes sidebar, should expand show playlists.

2. if still want access media, when not connected same network desktop pc, have copy contents of itunes music folder on desktop corresponding folder of laptop using itunes.

#2 not space friendly option if have large media library, foolproof have physical backup. inclusion of icloud features, keeping 2 date each other easy, unless import of media , not buy itms.
