iPhone 3G 3.1.3 05.12.01 baseband, update and unlock?

feel bit bad first post being request need help, googling , looking around still left me uncertain :eek:

title states have iphone 3g on 3.1.3 05.12.01 baseband want wipe , update 4.x , unlock use carriers.

understanding need update while preserving baseband, got. far used sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 make custom 4.2.1 ipsw successful , afterwards wanted use ultrasn0w don't want mess wanted have confirmation right... yeah appreciated, in advance!
 

just install ultrasn0w 1.2.3 cydia unlock phone.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
