Secure erase before clean install of Lion?

just got 2011 macbook pro, planning on upgrading lion once it's released next month public consumption. have apple ssd in mb pro, , question performing secure erase of ssd before upgrading lion snow leopard. necessary? guys recommend doing secure erase opposed simple reformat before upgrading? harm in doing secure erase on apple ssd?

depends ssd have.
if has sandforce controller, not necessary.
other controllers should benefit factory reset. far know can done pc. so, have disassemble ssd , put pc. can find needed tool in download sections of manufacturer.

edit: didn't read got apple ssd. not sure controller use. not think sandforce controller.
