Safari 5.1 won't block cookies

in safari prefs, privacy settings tab, have "block cookies third parties , advertisers" checked. however, see still accumulate cookies sites haven't visited such twitter.com, msn.com, doubleclick.net, wsj.net, etc.

appears there links on pages visit propagate these cookies. hundreds of cookies received after loaded page several tabs open , little other activity me.

i'm using safari 5.1. there way block cookies except sites visit?

note: googled problem , found common complaint many users. i'm hoping here has work around.

i've noticed same thing. seems can't accumulating million cookies never need , serve no practical purpose.

can, however, try out ghostery extension. blocks tracker cookies advertisers , other things may not want. i've been using in firefox , happy see available on safari.
