I need help Syncing

i'm in iphone after having original, 3g, going android while , i've got verizon 4. used gmail, ical, , iphone used sync nicely , changes made on of 3 pretty instantly sync across 3. same way android phone. of sudden i'm having trouble iphone 4. seems changes made in ical won't sync phone or gmail, changes made on phone or gmail sync in ical.
way have set through exchange, sync gmail, contacts, , calendars. haven't set caldev, remember doing in past. also, u.s. holidays calendar won't sync iphone either.
tried looking through stuff on google's forums, worst! unorganized , confusing. can point me in right direction? want 3-way syncing work again!!!!
