authenticating fails after snow leopard install

hello.
after installing snow leopard, cannot install anything, not system updates. installers ignore press "install" button authentize me… same happens system preference panes cant unlock. installers don't continue. i've reset passwords… be? installed snow leopard via external drive, odd doesn't work. before had installed 10.5.8, worked fine last 5 years (macbook pro 2,2).

driving me crazy… thoughts?

what mac os x 10.6 snow leopard version did use?
have performed clean install or upgrade install?
, how did go mac os x 10.4 tiger mac os x 10.5 leopard? erase & install or upgrade?
