Mission Control shows unknown small window

been scouring internet , haven't found explanation, here has one. on both macbook pro , imac i'm seeing small window showing in 1 of "spaces" in mission control. in attached screenshot shows in desktop 1, before restarted showing in desktop 3. have no applications running , can't determine might be. clicking on nothing, , being in desktop it's showing in , opening mission control doesn't bring up. tried search through activity monitor might running out of ordinary, don't see anything.

else have mysterious window? or way know since clicking on doesn't open anything? it's not visible anywhere except mission control, , when other program open (safari, itunes, etc) still shows on top of them in desktop preview. it's driving me crazy. thoughts?
