What differences will I see between the 2.7 and the 3.1

seriously considering getting new imac right now. friend of mine has ultimate 27", feel doesn't need half of does.

in same boat , same. use mine stream videos ipad (within house), light gaming (i love portal 2 , like; maybe plan on picking modern warfare 3 later year), htpc stuff run 1080p rips hdtv/stereo, light photo , video editing, plus obvious stuff web browsing, iphoto, itunes, etc.

that's it.

plan on upgrading @ least 12 (if not 16) gb of ram, well.

low end handle of well, or should go high end (but not ultimate) instead? love save $300 or dollars.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
