Getting new Imac, a few minor questions.

looking upgrade. have 2008 macbook. wife won ipad2 negates owning laptop us. casual users, reason had laptop surf web while on couch.

going pick basic 21.5" imac on tuesday, june 7th, come ipod can peddle.

1. if buy directly @ apple store, can touchpad , wired keyboard 10-key, or must bto online?

2. magic mouse great? have old logitech 2 button bluetooth mouse 7 years old, still works champ, thinking going touchpad. or bad idea?

3. 21.5" entry model have hard drive slot?

if so
how hard to?
can use hard drive? hearing alot new imacs using drives without fan issues.

thanks.

my imac has "wired" larger size apple keyboard. wife lots of numbers , wanted separate keyboard area many number tasks. glad got larger size keyboard (wired keyboard on desktop ok us).

large size keyboard "inclusion" details, simple phone call target apple store confirm. sell larger size keyboard , stores provide larger size keyboard (instead of wireless keyboard) free. depends on how store seller feels.

our imac has track pad. used few times. if miss-placed wireless device, wouldn't miss it. desktop machine, don't use often. next time around, wouldn't buy track pad device. currently, track pad in under screen - doing nothing.

generic "wired" usb mouse work on imac well. plug usb port , automatically installs needed drivers. if wondering, wireless mouse lost connection , connected usb mouse - save pages document. wired usb mouse worked great. me, can use apple wireless (magic) mouse or normal usb wired mouse - general usb mouse. both work fine me.

not sure new 2011 imac 21.5" internal hd slots. re: "1tb serial ata drive + 256gb solid state drive" configuration. have external hdd on imac , works great. great automatic time machine backups. few times, connected external "portable" hd usb port. worked well. fast data transfer speed, connecting fw800 port best.

knowing know today (and if dollars wasn't issue), i'd high end 21.5" both internal sdd drive (for os , main apps) , internal drive data files. 1 tb external drive automatic time machine backups. me, 21.5" size screen. 24ish" size perfect. personally, find larger 27" large. desk top area. 4 megs ram , if needed (based on activity monitor - memory usage numbers), i'd order more ram @ owc (which less expensive).

hope helps in research.
